Ziplining through the treetops has turned into a must-do activity for tourists when they visit global locations with jungles. Chiang Mai has embraced ziplining with a passion. Flight of the Gibbon was the first zipline camp when it opened in 2007, but there are now several zipline centres within about one hour’s drive of Chiang Mai. All the facilities say the safety of visitors is of the utmost importance and operate international standard equipment which is regularly maintained. Flight of the Gibbon is a unique location at which zipline riders are able to spot gibbons roaming through the forest in the pristine Mae Kampong area of Chiang Mai. Key features of the Flight of the Gibbon are the longest single zipline run in Asia, abseiling and skybridges at treetop level. Two rangers accompany each tour group to ensure safety protocols are followed to the letter. The standard package is a two and a half hour zipline which comes with lunch, a waterfall visit and transportation.

Eagle Track Zipline is conveniently located in the Mae Rim district to the north of Chiang Mai. Eagle Track’s equipment is premium quality Petzl and the course includes abseiling, monkey ladders, a spider web and bamboo bridge walkways. This location is not dense jungle and zipliners get commanding views of paddy fields and waterfalls plus forest. Tour options are Gold, Silver and Bronze and all include a buffet meal.

Jungle Flight offers a once in lifetime adventure experience in the jungles of Doi Saket and boasts three thrilling package options: Eco, Extreme and Ultimate. The latter includes a 1,000 meter roller coaster, but all three courses incorporate multiple platforms, zip-lines, skybridges, abseiling drops and strategically placed viewpoints. Pongyang Zipline provides a unique experience with an aerial adventure course featuring 17 ziplines, vertical staircases, abseiling, sky-skateboarding and a tricycle in the sky. The longest zipline stretches a gravity-defying 800 metres through the treetops. Billed as the ultimate treetop adventure, Flying Squirrels is a 16 zipline, 32-station course also in Mae Rim. A number of the ziplines run for several hundred metres and are harmonised by the likes of a scintillating zipwire skateboard, rappelling lines and the grand finale exit slide. A Flying Squirrels excursion begins with a truck ride to the rainforest and lasts for two and a half hours.

The Zipline Adventure is located at Huay Tung Tao Lake. The centre features a total of 28 station platforms and exhilarating ziplines through the treetops.
