Yoga and Tai Chi exercises, meditation and wellness practices originated in Asia. Modern Yoga is a derivative of Indian meditation which has been tweaked over the past couple of centuries so that it exercises the body as well as the spirit. The slow-moving exercises millions of Chinese do every morning have changed little since Tai Chi began life as a martial art in historic times.
Due to its diverse attractions and slow pace of life, Chiang Mai has long been the place to linger when on Thai or Asian travel odysseys. Yoga and Tai Chi courses are among the many training options on offer for those with a little extra time on their hands. Both exercise and posture practices help achieve better health and bodily suppleness as well as spiritual balance and some say even life longevity.
