Chiang Mai Immigration Shifts All Services Back to Main Airport Road Office

Chiang Mai’s Provincial Immigration Office has shifted all services back to its main office on Sanambin (Airport) Road. The changeover took place on the 25th of March, 2020 and the Promenada Mall sub-office has now closed for business. Anyone requiring an extension for a visa-exempt permit to stay, a visa-on-arrival, a 60-day tourist visa, a long-stay visa based on marriage to a Thai national or retirement now needs to apply at the Sanambin Office.

The recently announced 30-day Covid 19 emergency visa extension for foreigners unable to return to their homelands are being issued at the same office. TM30 reports of residence and 90-day reports required from long-stay expats are being handled at this office too. Due to the large number of people visiting immigration at present, the Immigration Bureau recently issued a notice asking people to try and do the 90-day reports online or by posting them in.
