Next week will see the inauguration of a new flight route connecting Chiang Mai and Taiwan. The début Eva Air flight from Taipei, the island’s capital city, will take off on Sunday the 1 July 2018. Flights will then operate once daily in each direction.
Eva Air flight number BR257 will depart from Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport at 07:25 and touch down in Chiang Mai Airport at 10:25. The return services, Flight BR258, will take off at 11:30 and land back in Taiwan at 16:45. All times quoted are local and actually flying time in each direction is around the four-hour mark.
In a press release, Eva explained Airbus A321-200s would be deployed to serve the route and these had 184 seats in two classes, Economy and Business. The statement also noted the new route would give North American travellers a seamless connection to Northern Thailand with a one-stop transit at Taipei Taoyuan Airport.

Eva Air’s Taipei connection adds to Chiang Mai’s fast growing portfolio of international flight choices. These currently include Doha in Qatar, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Singapore and numerous locations in mainland China.
