Chiang Mai Province’s Hinoki Land has confirmed there is plenty of time to take advantage of an offer giving free admission to the theme park. An update posted on Hinoki Land’s Facebook webpage last week stated that an ongoing free entry promotion would run through to the end of September and as originally advertised.
Free entry applies to both Thai nationals and international visitors. Standard admission fees are THB180 for Thais and THB230 for foreigners. Announcing the special offer in March, Hinoki Land proprietor Anirut Jungsutprasert explained that he had recouped the original target income of THB20 million from entry fees and would keep the facility running during the off-peak tourist season on profits from the sale of merchandise.
Hinoki Land is a kind of mini-Japan and features typical Japanese structures like a multi-tiered pagoda and a pathway with red torii archways as well as a lake and groves of sakura cherry blossom trees. The sales outlet, Hokki Tower, offers an intriguing collection of traditional silk kimonos, soft cushions, toiletries, and health and beauty products.
Since its soft-opening less than a year ago, Hinoki Land has become one of Thailand’s most visited tourist attractions. Hinoki Land is located in Chai Prakarn and is 120kms north of central Chiang Mai. An easily accessible location close to Highway 107 from Chiang Mai makes it a convenient stopover when visiting Doi Ang Khang, Fang or taking the Tha Ton to Chiang Rai river cruise.
