The schedule for what promises to be a fun-packed 2020 Chiang Mai Pride Festival has been released. The event will take place this coming Saturday, the 22nd February 2020, and will feature a full range of visual arts, activities and speeches plus a scintillating parade in the evening.
Chiang Mai Pride 2020 will launch with an official opening rite at the Chiang Mai Religion Practice Centre. This will kick off at 09:30 and is followed by various LGBT themed seminars and workshops. Pre-registration for the parade is scheduled to take place between 16:00 and 17:00 and is also at the Thapae Road religious centre.
The Gay Pride parade itself will run from 19:00 to 20:30. The parade will start at the centre and then turn onto Chang Klan Road, travel past the Night Bazaar before turning onto Sridonchai Road. The route then takes in locations such as Loi Kroh Road and the southeast side of the city moat.
After the parade, Le Dta’wan Market on Sridonchai Road is the venue for an evening’s entertainment scheduled to go right through to the witching hour at midnight. Among the class acts on the big night are opening and closing cabaret shows from Sixcret plus the Kana Warriors.
