The Central Festival Shopping and Lifestyle Mall will be holding Chiang Mai’s very own World Cup party this weekend. The mall is setting up a virtual stadium in time for the football finals. The screens will be be showing live footage from stadiums in Russia beginning at 17:00 this Saturday and Sunday, the 14 and 15 July.
The virtual stadium employs cutting edge technology and delivers immersive experiences akin to attending the live matches. Saturday’s match kicks off at 21:00 Thai time and will see the losing teams of this week’s semi-finals battle for third and fourth places. Sunday’s final is at 22:00 and sees the two winning semi-finalists pit their skills against each other for the title of World Football Champions 2018. France and Belgium will play their semi-final on Wednesday and Croatia will play England on Thursday.
Central Pattana (CPN), Chang Beer and Kasikorn Bank are staging the party with the theme Friendly Cheers Plus. Chiang Mai’s Central Festival is a premium mall located to the east of the city proper. Getting there is easy as it is on songthaew and bus routes in the direction of Doi Saket and Chiang Rai.
