It’s that time of the year again and, for many, the search is on for a venue to enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner. The number of Chiang Mai restaurants pubs serving Christmas dinner in 2019 has grown and expanded far beyond that of old favourites The Duke’s and The Red Lion.
The What’s Up team have been checking out which establishments are serving Christmas dinners. Our recommendations follow. Website links are provided for each of the recommended venues. Xmas dinners are popular and most of the establishments require diners to make advance reservations. A guide to Chiang Mai’s top dining venues is linked here.
Roast turkey dinners are on the menu at Sheryle’s Bar & Restaurant in the Old City and will be served on the 25th December between 12:00 and 22:00. Christmas dinner is available on the 24th and 25th at the Red Lion while the Duke’s Maeping will be staging its annual Christmas festive feast on the 25th only. At Le Méridien Chiang Mai, Xmas dinner will be served on Christmas Eve at a fun event also featuring carols and surprises from Santa.
On Christmas Eve, Thapae Co-Kitchen Space is offering a full selection of non-vegetarian, vegetarian and vegan Christmas delicacies. The Free Bird Cafe on Sirimankalajarn Road is the venue for a vegan Xmas dinner on December 23rd.
Due to the high number of expats living south of Chiang Mai, there are a number of additional choices within striking distance of Highway 108. Yummy Pizza is offering Xmas dinner on the 25th with a choice of four sittings. My Kitchen, just off the old Lamphun Road, will serve roast Xmas dinners on Christmas Day while Moto Bistro is laying on a Christmas buffet on Christmas Night with live music courtesy of the Black Martini Band.
