Ziplining through the treetops has turned into a must-do activity for tourists when they visit global locations with jungles. Chiang Mai has embraced ziplining with a passion. Flight of the Gibbon was the first zipline camp when it opened in 2007, but there are now six recommended jungle zipline centres within about one hour’s drive of Chiang Mai.
All the facilities say the safety of visitors is of the utmost importance and operate international standard equipment which is regularly maintained. Rangers are always on hand to ensure safety rules are obeyed. Typical zipline package tours include lunch and drinks. Transportation is included for some of the camps nearest to Chiang Mai. Tour agencies in Chiang Mai offer zipline tours and provide transport as part of their packages.

FLIGHT OF THE GIBBON
Flight of the Gibbon is a unique location at which zipline riders are able to spot gibbons roaming through the forest in the pristine Mae Kampong area of Chiang Mai. Key features of the Flight of the Gibbon are the longest single zipline run in Asia, abseiling and skybridges at treetop level. Two rangers accompany each tour group to ensure safety protocols are followed to the letter. The standard package here is a two and a half hour zipline circuit which comes with lunch, a waterfall visit and round trip transfers in air-conditioned passenger vans.

EAGLE TRACK ZIPLINE
Eagle Track Zipline is conveniently located in the Mae Rim district to the north of Chiang Mai. Eagle Track’s equipment is premium quality Petzl and the course includes abseiling, monkey ladders, a flying skateboard and a spider web as well as bamboo bridge walkways. This location is not dense jungle and zipliners get commanding views of paddy fields and waterfalls plus forest. Tour options are Gold, Silver and Bronze and all include a buffet meal of Thai specialities.

Jungle Flight offers a once in lifetime adventure experience in the jungles of Doi Saket and boasts three thrilling package options: Eco, Extreme and Ultimate. The latter includes a 1,000 meter roller coaster, but all three courses incorporate multiple platforms, zip-lines, skybridges, abseiling drops and strategically placed viewpoints. Jungle Flight maintains a city office at 47 Moon Muang Road. All packages offer transfer, light lunches, drinks and souvenir T-shirts.

PONGYANG ZIPLINE AND JUNGLE COASTER
Pongyang Zipline provides a unique experience with an aerial adventure course featuring 17 ziplines, vertical staircases, abseiling, sky-skateboarding and a tricycle in the sky. The longest zipline stretches a gravity-defying 800 metres through the treetops. Premium Pongyang packages come with free transport from Chiang Mai, insurance, drinks, a buffet lunch and a souvenir T-shirt. A walk-in discount deal gives a taste of the amenities on a shorter course. This is a good option for people visiting nearby Mon Cham other draws in the Mae Sa Valley. Billed as the ultimate treetop adventure, Flying Squirrels is a 16 zipline, 32-station course also in Mae Rim. A number of the ziplines run for several hundred metres and are harmonised by the likes of a scintillating zipwire skateboard, rappelling lines and the grand finale exit slide. A Flying Squirrels excursion begins with a truck ride to the rainforest and lasts for two and a half hours.

The Zipline Adventure course is located at Huay Tung Tao Lake. This 28 station course starts with a 4WD drive to the start station. It features a total of 28 station platforms and exhilarating ziplines through the treetops. The final two ziplines across the lake are each more than 350 meters long and provide panoramic views across to the hills and forests of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. Zipline Adventure provides premium quality Petzl harnesses and safety equipment for visitors while the zipline course is maintained by highly skilled engineers.
