THE WHAT’S UP GUIDE TO CHIANG MAI THAI COOKING COURSES

Pad Thai – One of the most popular dishes in Thailand.

The eclectic tastes of Thai cuisine have won the hearts of legions of foodies from all over the world. The chance of sampling famous dishes such as tom yam gung prawn soup, a signature curry or even spicy papaya salad has proved to be a major visitor draw in recent years. Taking a course at a Chiang Mai cooking school gives the chance of learning how to recreate these unique tastes and go home with same culinary skills as a Thai.

Cooking courses vary with each school, but generally include a trip to the market to pick out fresh herbs and ingredients, instructions on preparing the different dishes, cooking and then dining on the finished items. As part of the Thai cooking courses, participants gain insights into a selection of recipes and how to spice and season to taste. Most recommended Chiang Mai Thai cookery schools offer half-day and full-day courses. The average class size is about seven to eight students.
