For biking enthusiasts, the roads and jungle trails of Northern Thailand are the closest to heaven they will find. Bikers have a choice of off-road enduro and dirt bike tours as well as big bike riding travel odysseys. Chiang Mai is centrally located in Northern Thailand and is the ideal start point for off road expeditions. Terrain is varied and will take riders along deserted mountain and jungle trails and across rivers. Operators such as Thai Bike Tours say they cross up to 30 rivers a day on their tours.
The What’s Up recommended enduro and dirt bike companies are run by bikers who know the paths and trails of the North as well as they know their own villages. They use bikes which have been modified for comfort and long periods of riding. Tour lengths from one day up to three weeks are available. The tours include petrol and bike hire while the longer ones usually include meals and accommodation.
